We Broke Ground in Napa – for the first time!

 In news_events

On Friday, January 27th, Solano-Napa Habitat for Humanity hosted it’s first ever groundbreaking ceremony in Napa County, celebrating with gold shovels on a plot of land that will soon become a home for a local family. More than 50 people attended the ceremony, including staff members, board members, and volunteers from the organization. Local dignitaries spoke at the momentous occasion, including State Senator Bill Dodd, Ryan Gregory of the Napa County Board of Supervisors, and Napa’s Vice-Mayor Juliana Inman.

The property is located at 891 Saratoga Drive, a lot that is now barren, but will soon hold a 3-bedroom home for a deserving family who will put in hundreds of sweat equity hours and receive an interest-free home. A Family Search Orientation Meeting is taking place at Napa High School on March 15th. Fundraising for the project is underway, and tax-deductible donations can be made online here.
