PG&E’s “Connecting Hometowns” Volunteer Day

On Thursday, June 4, Solano-Napa Habitat for Humanity was honored to welcome 19 employee volunteers from Pacific Gas and Electric Company (PG&E) for a special volunteer build day as part of the “Connecting Hometowns” partnership. Together with our construction team, PG&E volunteers contributed an incredible 107 volunteer hours, building two custom children’s playhouses and ten handcrafted Adirondack chairs. Their enthusiasm, teamwork, and craftsmanship made for a memorable day filled with community spirit and shared purpose.

The finished pieces are now available for purchase at the Solano-Napa Habitat ReStore in Fairfield, with proceeds supporting Habitat’s mission of creating affordable homeownership opportunities for local families. Those funds, combined with PG&E’s generous $50,000 grant, will help advance Harmony Village, our planned 10-home development in Vacaville that will provide affordable homeownership opportunities for low-income families in our community. This partnership is part of a larger two-year, $500,000 investment by PG&E and Habitat for Humanity California to expand access to safe, stable housing throughout Northern and Central California.
