Staff Spotlight: Lynn Aldersley

This month we are spotlighting our new ReStore Manager, Lynn Aldersley. After Mike Glancy’s retirement at the end of 2021, Lynn was promoted from Assistant ReStore Manager to this new leading role and we are incredibly grateful for her dedication and hard work.

Lynn’s diverse career experience includes high-end retail merchandise management, print publishing, weddings and events, heavy construction equipment industry, and business start-ups, all of which make her keenly suited for her multi-faceted role as our ReStore Manager. Prior to joining our affiliate’s ReStore, Lynn worked for the Habitat for Humanity Inland Valley affiliate in Southern California where she facilitated their Critical Home Repair program while also working at one of their ReStores. Lynn unexpectedly fell in love with the ReStore and transitioned to working there full time, while also taking on a key role in their burgeoning online e-commerce merchandise sales program. After moving to the Bay Area, Lynn visited our ReStore in Fairfield, and met Mike Glancy.

“That first visit sealed the deal for me. I liked Mike immediately, and it just so happened that he was in need of an assistant manager,” said Lynn. “The Fairfield ReStore was one of the nicest I’d seen in my travels. It is stocked with not only the usual ReStore fare, but it’s also filled with high-end furniture, textiles, and home décor.”

Lynn now heads up our ReStore management team along with our newly promoted Assistant Manager, Jennifer Ramos, and Warehouse Manager, Thane McGee. Lynn describes her staff as eager, engaged, proactive, and full of forward-moving ideas. Lynn and her ReStore team are laser-focused on increasing donations and procuring new and exciting merchandise from an expanded donor and vendor base. They are also developing plans for improving the bones of the store and the overall customer experience.

“We thought we were never going to let Mike retire, but after Lynn joined our ReStore team she quickly proved she was far more than capable,” said Andrew Killeen, Executive Director of Solano-Napa Habitat for Humanity. “Because of Lynn’s skills and abilities, we won’t miss a beat, and I couldn’t be happier with our new ReStore management team.”

The proceeds from our ReStore go directly to building or repairing homes in our community, and are an integral part of SNHfH’s success as an affiliate. With Lynn in her new role, the store had a record month in January, and with the ongoing support of our donors, volunteers, and ReStore shoppers, we expect 2022 to be a record sales year too.

“The ReStore is endlessly interesting,” said Lynn. “Not only do I love the altruistic mission that benefits our local communities by building affordable housing, but our ever-changing inventory also makes it exciting to come into the store every single day.”
