10-Home Vacaville Project Coming in 2025
We are proud to announce a new upcoming build on Scoggins Court in Vacaville! This future build will feature 10 homes, the largest project in Solano-Napa Habitat for Humanity’s history. Last July, the City Council approved an agreement to convey the approximately one-acre property to Habitat in return for us building affordable housing for local low-income families on it. The agreement will also keep the houses in the affordable housing space for decades to come.
Our plans are to build 10 semi-detached, single-family homes and sell them to local, low-income families. The houses will be built using our traditional Habitat partnership housing concept of bringing together community volunteers and the Partner Families themselves to build the houses, which will be sold to those Partner Families with affordable financing.
The Scoggins Court Habitat Homeownership Project has already attracted significant financial support from the City of Vacaville ($300K in American Rescue Plan Act funds to assist with pre-development and site development work) and the Federal Government ($750K in Community Project Funding). This project is the culmination of over five years of discussions and negotiations with the City of Vacaville, and we look forward to making homeownership a reality for the 10 families it will serve!
