Thanks to everyone who helped us plan, build, grill, set up, and attend our Habitat Carnival and BBQ at Cordelia Park in Fairfield last weekend! More than 60 partner family members, key volunteers, board members, and staff joined the festive celebration, which included a variety of fun carnival games, prizes, hot dogs, hamburgers, popcorn, shaved ice, and more. This invitation-only event was to thank our volunteers and celebrate our Partner Families who have paid off their homes, with a special acknowledgement for one of our Benicia Partner Families who recently made their final mortgage payment.
“We had a blast celebrating this past weekend, and it was a joy to watch the children take part in the games and enjoy time together with their families,” said Andrew Killeen, Executive Director of Solano-Napa Habitat for Humanity. “Habitat is all about cultivating long-term relationships with a wide variety of families and supporters in our community, and events like these are a great reminder of how rewarding it is to be in community together and celebrate our collective achievements.”
A special thanks to past Board President Jack Batchelor for leading the grilling, our Construction Team for building the festive carnival games, and to our Volunteer Engagement Manager Tracy Moresi-Lorentzen for her vision and planning that made the event a success!
