A Solid Foundation

Yesterday we poured the foundations of our three homes on Woolner Avenue in Fairfield and we wanted to share this exciting milestone with you (pictured above and below).

“The potential for us to build on the Woolner Avenue property was first identified six years ago, so yesterday’s work represents many years of planning, collaboration, and hard work to get to this point,” said Andrew Killeen, Executive Director. “Pouring the foundations not only represents a functional first step in the building process, but also reminds us how homeownership provides critical stability for families in our community. These three concrete slabs will soon provide a solid foundation for three local families to build not just a home, but a future.”

We are eager to continue the building process with our partner families and volunteers, and we will soon go vertical with the framing and the walls. Many thanks to our SNHfH board, staff, and the volunteers on our operating committees who have turned our plans into reality with significant support from Solano County and the City of Fairfield.
