Earthquake Repairs Complete!
In August 2014, a major earthquake hit the American Canyon and Napa communities, and our organization has been working with local agencies in order to respond to this crisis and aid the victims. We are happy to report that several families in need of help were identified, and repairs to their homes are now complete!
In some instances, these families had no access to heat or showers, and were living in unsafe living conditions with leaking sewage pipes. Local fundraising efforts made by Solano-Napa Habitat for Humanity has made it possible for necessary repairs on 8 homes in the Napa Valley. Disaster recovery takes time, and our organization remains steadfast in advocating for the victims so rehabilitation can happen and homeowners can get back on their feet.
“We will be forever grateful for the teams that came and offered their services to repair our home,” said Mrs. Uriarte, whose home was damaged in the earthquake. “The Uriarte Family will never forget you.”
