Helping Hands from Queen of the Valley
On Tuesday, seven staff members from Queen of the Valley hospital helped build at the first Habitat for Humanity home in Napa County. The group split into teams, and guided by team leaders from the organization, helped install electrical boxes, and worked on rear siding and caulking to ensure fire safety. The group was cheerful, enthusiastic, and eager to learn new skills while helping their local community.

“Housing is one of our top priorities here at Queen of the Valley, and an important community health need here in the valley,” said Dana Codron. “The need extends beyond the homeless, and is also an issue for many local families who are doing everything they can to make ends meet and maintain affordable housing.”
“Our entire team had a wonderful time, there was a lot of laughter, and we walked away with a sense of accomplishment from having learned new skills,” said Codron. “It was a great team building experience, and it felt good to put in some sweat equity into a worthy cause for our community.”
