DIY Day at ReStore

 In news_events

On Saturday, March 11th, our very own ReStore hosted its first DIY Day! Habitat staff and 14 attendees gathered at our warehouse on Commerce Court to build beautiful wooden trays or bird houses using upcycled wine boxes (empty wooden wine boxes are available for purchase in our ReStore).

Participants were guided through the projects, and tables were set up with all the supplies needed, including gloves, safety goggles, masks for sawdust safety, and sanding blocks. The day was filled with lots of fun, connection, learning a new skill, and getting to know each other.

“The goal is community outreach and awareness,” said Volunteer Engagement Manager Tracy Moresi-Lorentzen. “A lot of people know we build houses, but our store is kind of a hidden gem. This place builds homes. It’s also about donations, volunteering, and word of mouth.”

Stay tuned for more information on future DIY Days at ReStore!
