Farewell, Mike Glancy!
After more than 10 years of service with Solano-Napa Habitat, Mike Glancy is retiring from his position as ReStore Manager. Hired in April 2011, Mike served as the ReStore’s first employee and successfully grew the business from the ground up. Under Mike’s management, the ReStore has grown from an 8,500 sqft retail store with $100,000 in annual sales, to a 16,500 sqft retail store and donation center that is on track to exceed $1,000,000 in annual sales this year. Now in its 11th year, the ReStore has become our organization’s single greatest source of revenue and has also diverted hundreds of tons of materials from local landfills.
Under Mike’s leadership, the ReStore has attracted several hundred volunteers each year to assist its growing workforce, which now stands at 10 paid staff members and two box trucks. The growth of ReStore is a testament to Mike’s collaborative management style focused on the mission of generating funds to pursue SNHfH’s purpose to build affordable housing in Solano and Napa counties.
“Mike has been one of the most eminently capable and wholly committed professionals with whom I have ever worked. A consummate professional, I have had the great pleasure of working with Mike for the past decade and I am going to miss our regular weekly meetings. Here’s wishing him all the best in retirement!” said Andrew Killeen, SNHfH Executive Director.
Earlier this month, many past and present board members gathered at a local restaurant to honor Mike, and at the ReStore, 60 past and present staff and volunteers celebrated Mike at his ‘ReTirement’ party alongside dozens of appliances and exercise equipment! See photos below. Assistant ReStore Manager Lynn Aldersley has been promoted to ReStore Manager, and she will be taking over the helm on December 1st. Lynn has been with us for three years, bringing with her years of past experience with a ReStore in Southern California.
Please join us in wishing Mike all the best in his retirement, and in congratulating Lynn on her promotion!
