Happy Mother’s Day!

As we all navigate the challenges of Sheltering at Home, it seems fitting to dedicate this month to Mothers – the ones who are often the heartbeat of the home.

Here at Solano-Napa Habitat for Humanity, we are inspired by our family of Habitat mothers who work so hard to become homeowners and provide safe, reliable shelter for their family. Pictured above is a photo of Briana Kenner and her daughters Shamia and Maishia, taken at the dedication ceremony of their new home in Fairfield. Briana never thought she could qualify for a home until Habitat representatives visited her church and encouraged her to apply. After being selected, Briana put in hundreds of sweat equity hours alongside community volunteers until building was complete, and now pays an affordable mortgage on her home.

When the time is right, we will build again and continue our mission so more mothers like Briana and their families can have a place to call home.
