Homes for the Brave

As we near Memorial Day, we want to give an update on the homes we’ve recently built for the brave warriors who have sacrificed for our country. Our Veterans’ Residence in Dixon is up and running (pictured above), with local Veterans – formerly experiencing homelessness – now living in safe, peaceful, and secure housing. Our second Veterans’ Residence in Rio Vista is also complete, and we have plans underway to build a second residence in Rio Vista in the coming months.

We first embarked on this idea of building housing specifically for Veterans knowing the need in Solano County is great, with approximately 150 of these service men and women struggling with homelessness. Now thanks to the efforts of our organization and the generous, surrounding community, 12 of these Veterans now have a place to call home, with plans for another 6-unit residence underway.
