Partner Families Selected for 3-Home Project
Earlier this month, we informed three, excited families that they have been selected to purchase one of the homes being built as part of our 3-home build project on Woolner Avenue in Fairfield. A big thanks to our Family Services Committee for their hard work and dedication to vetting all applicants for the selection process, and to our board of directors who reviewed the slate of qualified applicants and chose three, local, deserving families. All partner families have signed a provisional letter of acceptance, and are eager to get going on their sweat equity hours!
“For months we waded through seemingly endless applications and interviewed families in their homes, to narrow down our choices,” said Rachelle Dizon, Family Services Manager. “I did not envy the Board having to make the tough decision of choosing amongst all the deserving families to purchase the three Woolner houses. That said, after having the chance to meet with them and learn about their stories, I have every confidence that the three selected families will not only make wonderful Partner Families for our affiliate, but caring and supportive neighbors for each other!”
Below is a recap on each of the three partner families:
– Sharryl juggles her time working as a Community Outreach Liaison at a local school district and caregiver, while raising her son. Their favorite activity together is finding beautiful bodies of water after a nice road trip. Sharryl is also involved with her church and local non-profit organizations.
– Ambar is a widow who has dedicated her life to raising her two daughters. She works as a front office receptionist at a local medical center in order to financially support her children all on her own.
– Antonio and Guadalupe are loving parents to four energetic children. Antonio works for a local construction company and Guadalupe considers herself a 24-hour caregiver for her special needs child.
We are currently fundraising for this project, and will begin recruiting volunteers soon. Please consider a donation of time or funds to help get this 3-home project complete for these wonderful families!
