Our hearts are full with gratitude for all the volunteers, sponsors, elected officials, and community members who joined us for the dedication of the Veterans Residence in Dixon on Saturday, August 24th, 2019. More than 100 of you celebrated this momentous occasion with us as we recognized many of the hands that rallied together to help change the lives of local veterans.
We partnered with CAN-B (Community Action North Bay) to build a 6-bedroom, 3-bath home in Dixon for local veterans. The home will provide a permanent place to live for the veterans, who will pay an affordable rent to CAN-B. Nancy Nelson, SNHFH Board Secretary who works for OAG Architects in Benicia, designed the 2,500-square-foot, Craftsman-style home to fit in with the historic neighborhood. The project will provide a permanent home for six deserving veterans, offering a quiet and calm environment so these dedicated warriors can live healthy and productive lives. This innovative project will also serve as a prototype for potential, similar builds throughout the region and country.
Thanks to everyone involved in making this build happen – we are grateful to our generous community!
